I named this scent The Hydrocarbon Chain for the way simple elements link together to create something greater. Hydrocarbons power movement, machines, momentum. But here, they also anchor memory. And the quiet pride of learning how to build something that lasts.

Growing up, my dad was almost always out in the yard or tinkering in the garage on one of his car projects. He was always super meticulous and focused, and I’d sit nearby watching and learning how things worked. The smell of warm metal, motor oil, and auto polish blended with the scent of the redwood fence and the blossoms from our Valencia orange tree, drifting through the open garage door. It was a mix that became its own signature-layered, imperfect, and full of life. Just like the best memories.
